I made an error in my original listing of this unit. I used information from the manual that came with it and it isn't the correct manual. Please read the new description carefully!! These units are used in satellite-based digital video broadcast networks that transmit video, audio and data. They utilize Single channel Per Carrier (SCPC) techniques. This is a brand new unit, still in the box with instruction manual and power cord. Unfortunately, I found the manual is for a DVR95/DVR96, not this exact unit. The DVR units have the decoder built into them so some of the operations may be the same. I unwrapped the unit for the photos but put it back in the plastic bag as seen in the third photo. The DVD95 is used at the downlink side to reconstruct the stream into video and audio and feed it directly into a monitor. This unit is designed for use with MPEG-1 compression technique. It requires an output from an LNB and a receiver to work (not included). The LNB needs to convert the satellite signal to the L band (950-1450 Mhz) and feed it to the receiver, then the receiver feeds it to the DVD95 I would guess. The rear panel of the unit has the following connections. MPEG in, AUX out, Audio L & R (RCA jacks), Video out (BNC), RF switch (9 pin D), Serial port (9 pin D), and a 14 pin terminal strip with alarm, 3 pair of "closure" pins, and R & L audio pins. With power applied, no lights appear on the front panel unless it has signals to process. I can get the LEDs to flash but not stay on long enough for a photo. A power cord is included in this sale. I have no way to test this unit but as I said, it is brand new in the box so barring a factory defect, it should work great.
