This is a very good, lightly used Varian HS-20 Diffusion Pump, The Varian, Inc. Model HS-20 Diffusion Pump has a five-stage fractionating jet that purifies the pumping fluid as it operates, helping to achieve low base pressures. It has ASA flanges (20-inch ASA inlet, 4-inch ASA foreline).
* High tolerable forepressure
* Fluid sight-glass/fill-and-drain enables easy fluid monitoring
* Full thermal protection guards against overtemperature
* Includes an NW25 KF gauge port just below the inlet flange
* Foreline baffle prevents loss of fluid to the backing pump
* Optional halo baffle reduces backstreaming without adding height
* Tee-type water connections ease cleaning the cooling coils
* Pumping speed: 17,500 l/sec (air), 22,000 l/sec (helium and H2)
- 14 torr-l/sec in operating range
- 18 torr-l/sec @ 0.01 torr
* Operating range: 8 × 10-4 torr to <5 × 10-8 torr
* Maximum forepressure: 0.65 torr (no load), 0.55 torr (full load)
