H-13is an air- or oil-hardening tool steel that is noted for extreme toughness and good red-hardness. H-13 is used mostly in hot tooling applications, although it is used in cold work applications where other steels have broken during use. Typical applications include aluminum extrusion, bending, forging and plastic mold dies, hot work punches and extrusion press liners.
