This is a very common filter for all of house water filtration. It suits all of house tank water, rivers, creeks, streams. Helps to remove Chlorine and other nasty chemical contaminants.
The 1" in /out ports gives high flow so you don't experience flow restriction as you would with smaller 2" filters which only have 1/2" or 3/4" threads.
This 20" deep filter is ideal for general house when you have a larger than normal water use. It is also a good idea to use the 20" deep filter when you have particular dirty water as this will give you longer between cleaning or replacement of filter cartridges.
If you have dirty water, dam, river, creek, or even dirty tank water you should look at using a twin filter with sediment filter first then the carbon second, the sediment filter will protect the carbon from blocking prematurely.
