Ad is submitted by poster: Its a adjustable attenuator for waveguide. The most common use for this is to check fade margin on microwave receiving systems. It's inserted in the wave guide feeding a receiver and then adjusted until the signal is lost. Normally, they have a calibrated dial in decibels and at the point of signal loss, the dial reading will correspond to the fade margin. Thanks again Greg!
