Mains Tester and Digital Circuit Tester
Touch the button marked “Inductance Break- point Test†and approach the insulation of the cable to be tested with the tip of the tester. The symbol will be displayed if the cable is live. Move the tip of the tester along the cable until the symbol is extinguished – this is where the cable is broken.
NOTE: maximum insulation thickness is 2mm.
Touch the button marked “Direct Test†and touch the live wire with the tip of the tester. The voltage level will be indicated on the digital display on a rising scale: 12,36,55,110,220V. For example as the voltage approaches 12V only 12 will be displayed and as the voltage approaches 250V all digits will be displayed up to 220.
NOTE: when testing non-grounded power sources such as a battery or the output of an isolating transformer the reading may be higher or lower than the actual voltage present. In order to achieve a more accurate reading it is necessary to connect the “Direct Test†button to the other pole of circuit using a test lead.
(C) GROUND/PHASE TEST FUNCTION
Touch the button marked “Inductance Break-point Test†and approach the socket with the tip of the tester. The symbol will be displayed at the live socket.
