I am listing a used Baldor 6†Grinder, model 500. This grinder is in working condition. It runs well in both forward and reverse. I do not feel any looseness or runout, and when powered off it takes a good amount of time to spin down, so the bearings appear to be in great shape.
Specifications: 1/2 HP, 115 Volts, 5.0 Amps, 1 phase, 60 Hz, 3450 RPM
On the right side is what I believe to be a diamond wheel. It is worn as the picture shows. If you’re familiar with this model grinder, then you know better than I what the purpose of this type of wheel is.
On the left side is an abrasive wheel with a very custom profile. I don’t know why, but it definitely has this shape for a reason – I don’t think normal wear would look like this. I can only guess that it is this shape to sharpen some kind of cutter.
There is plenty of life left in this grinder – Baldor makes them to last. New wheels for it are still easily found.
