These magnets have nearly unlimited applications! Due to their size and dimensions, they are ideal for pressing into small (1/4" diameter) holes, for use in knife, tool holders, holding doors closed etc. perfectly safe on the fridge, in the kitchen, around the shop, etc. These are ideal for the education, kids can handle them safely - although we suggest that, especially young kids, always handle magnets under supervision! It should be noted, that a large stack of these becomes a "large magnet" and at that point, the risks of getting pinched, or damaging electronics are greater. These magnets are many times stronger (About 7 times) than the ceramic ferrite, and AlNiCo magnets most folks are accustomed to.
These little 1/2" diameter X 1/16" thick disks are brand new, Licensed NdFeB, Grade 42 material. They come Nickel- coating, the best protection coating available to help prevent chipping and corrosion. Actual field density measured at the surface of one of these magnets is around 13200 gauss. Br Max (the maximum field density which can be generated by this material) is 13200 gauss (this is considered to be the "Gauss Rating"). One of these magnets, under ideal circumstances can lift around 4 pounds of Iron! - incredible for their small size.
