With the preset mode these are excellent for use with split ball type bore gages. You can use the preset feature to set the bore gauge to a micrometer or setting ring and then have a direct digital readout with the analog bargraph or go/no-go modes.
The absolute positioning in preset mode means that you don’t have to reset the display when the power is turned off, another advantage for use with bore gages.
