This is a Tube Type Signal generator SG - 3U, ARN/URM-70, made by Measurements Corporation for the U.S. Army Signal Corps, SN 1152. This Signal Generator is designed to provide VHF test signal for field and laboratory measurements, testing, and alignments. This unit comes in a shock mounted Transit case and may be used in or out of case. Some applications are: Calibrating Oscillators, measure receiver sensitivity, measure of signal plus noise-to-noise ratio, overall distortion, band-pass characteristics. alignment procedures,and measurement of a receiver's image projection ratio.

There is a Schematic inside of the bottom panel and manuals are available online, search by AN/URM-70. All tubes are mounted with tube retaining shields or retention devices. This unit is in very good physical condition and does appear to be in working condition.
