The collet is tightened by a 10-32 draw-bolt which runs through the center of the spindle shaft and pulls the 1/8" (3mm on request) collet into the taper and closes onto the cutter shaft, much like on a R8 collet systems of the popular Bridgeport brand.
The housing and pulley are make of 6061-T6 Aluminum and is given a scratch finish. The spindle shaft is made from 303 Stainless Steel for corrosion resistance. The collet is made of Leaded Steel to produce the high tolerances needed for this design.
Some of the spindles main features include:
* Triple Stainless Steel Bearing Design Rated at 60,000 rpm's.
* "Scratch" Finish. Resist Mounting Marks and Won't Tarnish.
* 1/8" (.125") Three Split Collet. 3mm on Request.
* Max Recommended Spindle Speed: 35,000 R.P.M.
* Average Bearing Life: 1500 Hours @ 25,000 R.P.M.
* Spindle Length Measures 5.000" and has A .750" Dia. Body.
